The theoretical approach that best fits Jean Kilbourne's analysis of gender in advertising is A. Social-Conflict.

The Social-Conflict Theory revolves around the conflict and change that society generates amid the inequality, gender violence, self-esteem problem, and wrong portrayals created through media.

Women always try to measure up with the advertising images created by models. On the part of men, from advertising, they embrace the idea that women are objects to be used, not persons deserving of intimate love.

2. The reason Katz argues that societal perspective on violence against women should shift to being men's problem rather than women's issue is that this change will enable society to understand that violence against women will not happen without the active involvement of men.

When this shift in perspective happens, women will no longer face violence from men. Men, on their part, will deal holistically with their masculinity, understanding that women are equal partners and not their adversaries. Both genders need each other to live a life of love and fulfillment.

Katz's argument makes good sense in many ways. For one, a shift will ensure that masculinity ceases to be an excuse for perpetrating violence. Women do not threaten men's masculinity in any way. Women cherish and recognize men in their roles when they carry them out properly.

Thus, I agree with Jean Kilbourne's view that advertising should not entrench the culture of violence against women, which arises from the excessive glorification of masculinity.

Often innocent people suffer from man-made disasters. Which of these actions can be taken to minimize number of victims or preve
AURORKA [14]

Answer:

A, B and D

Explanation:

Man-made disasters can be prevented by applying the options above.

Alarm systems have proven to be very effective in alerting people to potential dangers in their environment whether in the home or workplace. For example, a fire alarm which goes off on the detection of smoke enable people to evacuate a building and the fire department to be called in to contain the situation.

Plans for evacuation and shelter in the event of a disaster cannot be underestimated. For example, the evacuation of people living near and around nuclear reactor sites or chemical plants should be planned for.

Regular inspection by licensed inspectors, of man-made structures goes a long way in helping determine whether those structures are still durable and reliable. For instance, regular inspection of old architectures like buildings and bridges enable us see warning signs about a potential disaster and take steps to stop it.

Implementation of a fail-safe mechanism recognises potential failures in system designs and protects against such failures resulting in a fatality.

Describe some effects of the rise of communism in the Soviet Union?
lisov135 [29]

The command system, which is also described as Marxism, socialism, or communism, is both a political and economic philosophy. In a communist economy, the government owns most of the firms, subsequently controlling production and allocation of resources. One of the most well-known and well-documented cases of a communist government took place in the Soviet Union, beginning in 1917 and eventually falling in 1992. Idealistically, communism eliminates social classism and provides equal work for all in a particular society. The government appoints a central planning board to “determine production goals for each enterprise and to specify the amount of resources to be allocated to each enterprise so that it can reach its production goals.” In theory, communism attempts to create an egalitarian society.
