Based on Chapter 4 of Wheels of Change, which quotation helps develop the central idea that some people did not support the idea
frez [133]

Based on Chapter 4 of "Wheels of Change," the quoatation that helps develop the central idea that some people did not support the idea of women participating in cycling races is the following:

In 1896, Sporting Life applauded what the newspaper saw as the failure of a recent six-day women's bicycle race in New York City, declaring, "This ensures that the disgusting and degrading exhibition will not soon be repeated.”

The quote specifically states that some thought that women cycling was "disgusting" and "degrading." The speaker believed that due to the disaster of the six-day women's bicycle race in New York City, that women would not be cycling again anytime soon, which is how it should be.

Discuss how trustworthy consumer ratings and reviews of product and services are. Companies use different tools: badges, contrib
scoray [572]

Answer:

Reading customer ratings and reviews of products and services can be helpful sometimes, and help you choose which product or service to purchase when looking for the best quality. However, it can sometimes be misleading, and you should always check the profile of the reviewer, to see if they are new to the company, verified to be telling the truth, and see if their contribution level is good or bad. I believe that these tools do help increase credibility of reviews and ratings.

Say you were looking at the reviews on a bag you've wanted to buy for some time. You also have a back up bag that you can buy that is cheaper. You see a bunch of reviews saying that the bag you really want rips/tears too easily, and is a little smaller than advertised. You check the verification on their profiles and see that they have been using those products for a few months now, and weren't satisfied with it. The back up bag you chose has better reviews and is said to be more durable. You check the verification on their profiles as well, and see that they are satisfied customers, and have been using those products for years.

So, instead, you buy the cheaper bag. You are happy with your decision, and the bag lasts for almost four years, and never fails you. Thanks to the reviews and comments, you have decided to change your decision.

Crowdsourcing can be a big help purchasing an item that is popular, or when you are looking for cheaper alternatives.

What details explain what causes the narrator to begin to "bump people back"? How do these details
Mazyrski [523]

Hello. You forgot to warn that this question is about the "Invisible Man" prologue.

Answer:

The text shows details that prove that the narrator exists without being perceived by anyone around him, so he starts to push people to prove that he exists. These details help to convey the message that not being noticed is lonely and that it makes a person doubt his own ability and relevance in the world.

Explanation:

The narrator is an invisible man. This causes everyone in the world to ignore you. His existence is irrelevant to the universe and all people follow their lives as if he does not exist and he is not noticed by anyone, this makes everyone bump into him all the time.

This makes the speaker live an extremely lonely life and makes him start to doubt his own existence and to prove that he really exists he starts to push people back.

The main message of the text is to show how human beings need attention, to validate them, to show that they are relevant. When that attention is withdrawn, human beings can respond with hostility as a way to resolve their internal doubts.

Do you think Confucius's ideas about people and society are still relavent today? Do you think Lao-tzu's philosphie is compatibl
kakasveta [241]
Yes some of confucius's idea about people and society are relevant today because he had some great ideas and ways of thinking however some things are no longer acceptable in today's society. like mourning for 3 years over the loss of a parent. Lao-tzu's philosophy is somewhat compatible with the modern world because meditation is still a good for people but other things like gaining wisdom through understanding the universe isn't practical anymore because we know so much more about the universe than we did back in Lao-tzu's time.
