What organ manufactures and stores most of the body's glycogen as a ready source of glucose?
Amanda [17]
Liver is the organ that manufactures and stores most of the body's glycogen as a ready source of glucose. The process of formation of glycogen is called glycogenesis, which is the primary carbohydrate stored in the liver and muscle cells of animals. It is formed from glucose under stimulation by insulin hormone, and takes place when the blood glucose levels are sufficiently high to allow excess glucose to be stored in liver and muscle cells.

Develop a hypothesis to explain why you think eurypterids developed legs even though they lived on the ocean floor.
expeople1 [14]

I think that since it lives on the ocean floor, at the deepest of the ocean. So anyway, the fin on the Eurypterids is still necessary but not that much, since they live on the ocean floor. Their movements mostly on the ocean floor. So fin would not help them "stick" to the floor. Also there are still gravity acts on the Eurypterids and the feet would help them move faster. Hope this helps.

why do you think the blood ph stays neutral while the same amount of lactic acid in water was very acidic
forsale [732]

This happens because blood has its own buffers which maintain the pH. Alkaline (high pH) buffers are released into the blood stream when the blood becomes too acidic, and conversely, acidic buffers (low pH) are released if the blood pH becomes too alkaline.

The blood pH is maintained within a pH range of 7.35 - 7.45. This is because our body’s immune system needs to operate in optimal conditions and thus, be able to fight off illness and disease.
