le. A 4-column table with 4 rows. The first column has no label with entries drama, action, comedy, total. The second column is labeled 7th with entries 11%, 25%, 14%, 50%. The third column is labeled 8th with entries 15%, 19%, 16%, 50%. The fourth column is labeled total with entries 26%, 44%, 30%, 100%. Which statements are correct? Check all that apply. More 7th graders were surveyed than 8th graders. The marginal relative frequency for action movies is 44%. The joint relative frequency for 8th graders who like comedy movies is 16%. Most students prefer drama movies. Half of the 7th graders prefer action movies.

A table is a arrangement of the data or the information. For the given table statement second, third and fifth are the correct statements.

Given information-

A four by four table in given for the survey of the 7th and 8th group students for the movie preference.

<h3>Table </h3>

A table is a arrangement of the data or the information

Now look at the statement.

  • 1) More 7th graders were surveyed than 8th graders- As both 7th grade and the 8th grade student surveyed are 50 percent. Thus the statement 1 is incorrect.
  • 2) The marginal relative frequency for action movies is 44%-Total 7th grade students like the action movies are 25 percent. Total 8th grade students like the action movies are 19 percent. The sum of both is 44 percent. Thus this is correct statement.
  • 3) The joint relative frequency for 8th graders who like comedy movies is 16%- From the table it can be said that the frequency of the 8th grade students likes the comedy movie is 16 percent. Thus this is a correct statement.
  • 4) Most students prefer drama movies- The highest number of the movie preferred by the students is action movie. Thus this is an incorrect statement.
  • 5) Half of the 7th graders prefer action movies- The 50 percent of the 7th grade is surveyed in which 25 percent like the action movie.25 is the half of the 50. Thus it is a correct statement.

Hence for the given table statement second, third and fifth are the correct statements.

What are the zeros for both functions
sammy [17]

Answer:

the zero of a function is the value of x which makes the final value zero

First Equation:

So let 25 - 2x equal to 0

<em>25 - 2x = 0</em>

x = 12.5

Second Equation:

Let 2x² - 11x - 6 equal to zero

<em>2x² - 11x - 6 = 0 </em>

<em>2x² - 12x + x - 6 = 0 </em><em>(Splitting the middle term)</em>

<em>2x(x - 6) + 1(x - 6) = 0</em>

<em>(2x + 1) (x - 6) = 0</em>

So we can transpose either one of the brackets below the zero

(2x + 1) = 0                 or             (x-6) = 0

x = -1/2                      or             x = 6

Katen [24]

Answer:

10.14 feet per year.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Over the next 3 1/2 years, a tree grew to a final height of 35 1/2 feet.

Question asked:

During those 3 1/2 years, what was the average yearly growth rate of the height of the tree?

Solution:

We can find the average yearly growth rate by using average formula, taking

final height of the tree as sum of observation and time span taken to growth as number of observation:-

As we know:

Average=\frac{Sum\ of\ observation}{number \ of\ observation}

             =35\frac{1}{2} \div3\frac{1}{2} \\ \\ =\frac{71}{2} \div\frac{7}{2} \\ \\ =\frac{71}{2}\times\frac{2}{7} \\ \\ =\frac{142}{14} =10.14\ feet

Thus, during 3\frac{1}{2} \ years, the average yearly growth rate of the height of the tree was 10.14 feet per year
