Mitosis produces 2 cells, and each would have 6 chromosomes.

Interphase:

G1 = cell growth

S = DNA Duplication

G2 = organelle duplication

Cell division

Metaphase = total 12 chromosomes in the center of the cell.

Anaphase = centromeres split, sister chromatids go to the pole of the cell.

After Cytokinesis each of the 2 cells would have 6 chromosomes

The term diploid is unimportant in this question.
