The palace at Versailles was how king Louis the 14th separates himself from the French people. He brought people in and would bring them into events but people would fight in the palace who would get to put the royal cape on the king just to go with him to something. Most people do not know that at the palace, they hah beautiful fountains but, none of them worked.
