-Italian influence -ll -vos Argentine Spanish is very distinctive in the Spanish-speaking world and is characterized by its strong Italian influence. Because the majority of Argentines are of Italian descent, the influence of Italian on the local Spanish created a dialect called Lunfardo that incorporated many words from Italian.
Argentines and Uruguayans also pronounce the ll sound much stronger than in other Spanish-speaking countries. While in most countries the ll is pronounced like ll, in Argentina the double ll is pronounced like a combination of ch and y.
Finally, in Argentina the vos form is used instead of the tú. This changes the conjugations of the command forms in the second person singular and makes Argentine Spanish similar to other accents that also use the vos.
