If you have an equation for your graph you would substitute the y AND x with 0, you the solve the solution and if the solution is true then the space where (0,0) is located becomes the shaded area because that resembles the area in which everything is a positive solution with the equation. If it is false then the opposite area is then shaded because (0,0) doesn’t work with the problem.
