Landforms and bodies of water have different effects on typhoons.

Landforms will weaken typhoons by making them lose energy and momentum. Similarly cold water bodies weaken typhoons.

Warm waterbodies such as oceans will strengthen a typhoon by typically making it gain energy and momentum.

The correct processes of how landforms and bodies of water affect typhoon are given below:

  1. Warm, humid air travels into the land
  2. Formation of clouds and rain
  3. Air cools as it continues to rises
  4. Humidity condenses into heavy rain
  5. Warm water from the surface of the ocean evaporates, making humid air in the atmosphere

  7. Winds flow outward above the storm allowing the air below to rise.
  8. Wind coming together forcing air upward
  9. Light winds outside typhoon steer it and let it grow.
