The 3rd term of an arithinetic progression is-9
padilas [110]

Answer:

-64

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the 10th term of the progression is shown below:

The 3rd term is -9

A_n = a + (n - 1)d

-9 = a + (3 - 1)d

-9 = a + 2d

-9 - 2d = a

Now the 7th term is -29

A_n = a + (n - 1)d

-29 = a + (7 - 1)d

-29 = a + 6d

Put the a value to the above equation

-29 = -9 - 2d + 6d

-29 + 9 = 4d

-20 = 4d

d = -5

Now

-9 - 2d = a

-9 - 2(-5) = a

-9 - 10 = a

a = -19

Now finally the 10th term of the progression is

= a + (n - 1)d

= -19 + (10- 1)-5

= -19 -45

= -64

If a girl earned $43.65 by working 5 hours in one day , how much would she earn by working 7 hours in one day
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

So you would divide 43.65 by 5 hours (to get 8.73), then you multiply by 7, and your final answer is $61.11

Hope that helps :)

Find the limit, if it exists. (If an answer does not exist, enter DNE.)
lys-0071 [83]

let's change some the 0.1 to say 1/10, just the fraction version of it.

\bf \lim\limits_{x\to \left( \frac{1}{10} \right)^-}~\cfrac{10x-1}{|10x^3-x^2|}\implies \lim\limits_{x\to \left( \frac{1}{10} \right)^-}~\cfrac{10(-x)-1}{10(-x)^3-(-x)^2}

\bf \cfrac{-10x-1}{-10x^3-x^2}\implies \cfrac{-10\left( \frac{1}{10} \right)-1}{-10\left( \frac{1}{10} \right)^3-\left( \frac{1}{10} \right)^2}\implies \cfrac{-1-1}{-\frac{1}{100}-\frac{1}{100}}\implies \cfrac{-2}{\frac{-2}{100}} \\\\\\ \cfrac{~~\begin{matrix} -2 \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}~~}{1}\cdot \cfrac{100}{~~\begin{matrix} -2 \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}~~}\implies 100

when checking an absolute value expression, we do the one-sided limits, since an absolute value expression is in effect a piecewise function with ± versions, so for the limit from the left we check the negative version.

Please help me! I am struggling
AysviL [449]

Answer:

Oh man! I totally understand why you are struggling!

Step-by-step explanation:

You want the textbook or the cheat sheet?

Lets go with the cheat sheet.

So, notice the line segments, correct?

The way to find those is Pythagorean Theorem.

The squares of the legs of the triangle add up to the length of the hypotenuse squared. Imagine that the lengths of the sides ARE Hypotenuses. Then, form a triangle, with the legs (Other sides of the triangle except the hypotenuse) either vertically or horizontally(I explain it better below).

In other words, we need to create a right triangle with AB as the hypotenuse to use Pythagorean Theorem. How do we do that?

Count the number of units both vertically and horizontally from point A to B. Essentially, make a horizontal line segment starting at A, and stop it over B. Then, make a vertical line that goes down to B from that ending point (Remember to count the number of units along the way).

Those are your legs. Then, use those measurements in the Pythagorean Theorem:

12^{2} + 8^{2}=AB

I'm confident you can solve this! If you know mathematics...

Then, repeat for either AD or BC.

Then, use the formula for area of the Rectangle. How do we know that it is a rectangle? Well, I'm skipping this part because it will take too long to do, but I can explain it later if you want!

Oh, well.

Hope this helps! Stay Safe!
