Hey Jspjulie,

Lets solve your problem step by step.

The question we are encountering is: How do I solve : 4e^{0.1x}=60.

        The first step is to divide both sides by 4.

\dfrac{4e^{0.1x}}{4}=\dfrac{60}{4}

       Now we simplify the fraction

e^{0.1x}=15

 \mathrm{If\:}f\left(x\right)=g\left(x\right)\mathrm{,\:then\:}\ln \left(f\left(x\right)\right)=\ln \left(g\left(x\right)\right)

\ln \left(e^{0.1x}\right)=\ln \left(15\right)

Now we have to apply the log rule: \log _a\left(x^b\right)=b\cdot \log _a\left(x\right)

0.1x\ln \left(e\right)=\ln \left(15\right)

     Now we simplify

0.1x=\ln \left(15\right)

    Finally, we reach our answer

x=\ln \left(15\right)\cdot \:10

Hope this helps,

What is the value of x?
Ray Of Light [21]
The Pythagorean Theorem states that a^2+b^2=c^2
We already have:
A^2+6^2=117
All we need to do is find the missing A by subtract b from c.
117-36=81
Now the square root of 81, 9.
So, x is 9 cm.

If the surface area of the box in the diagram is 204.25 square feet, what is the value of ‘x’?
Alexandra [31]

Note: Consider x be the breadth of the box.

Given:

The surface area of the box is 204.25 square feet.

Length of the box = 10 ft

Breadth of the box = x ft

Height of the box = 6.5 ft

To find:

The value of x.

Solution:

The surface area of a cuboid is:

SA=2(lb+bh+hl)

Where, l is length, b is breadth and h is height of the cuboid.

Putting SA=204.25, l=10,\ b=x,\ h=6.5 in the above formula, we get

204.25=2(10\times x+x\times 6.5+6.5\times 10)

204.25=2(10x+6.5x+65)

204.25=2(16.5x+65)

Using distributive property, we get

204.25=2(16.5x)+2(65)

204.25=33x+130

204.25-130=33x

74.25=33x

Divide both sides by 33.

\dfrac{74.25}{33}=x

2.25=x

Therefore, the correct option is B.

Factor:<br> 4b2 - 12b + 9
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

  (2b-3)²

Step-by-step explanation:

The square of a binomial is ...

  (p - q)² = p² - 2pq + q²

The fact that the first and last terms are perfect squares suggests that you might want to look to see if the middle term matches this form. It does.

For p² = 4b², p=2b.

For q² = 9, q = 3.

Then 2pq = 2(2b)(3) = 12b.

So, the factoring is ...

  4b² -12b +9 = (2b -3)²
