In "Much Ado About Nothing", Claudio denounces Hero before the stunned guests and storms off with Don Pedro causing Hero to faint. Her father, Leonato, who felt humiliated, made it clear what he had in mind, a wish that she'd die. The presiding friar, believing that Hero was innocent, decides to intervene. He then suggests the family must fake Hero's death in order to extract the truth and Claudio's remorse.

The story backs up that the answer is:

A. Perception

Because it is by messing with one's perception that they extract truth
