Answer: 11/24

Step-by-step explanation:I turned 2 and 3/4 into an improper fraction which got me 11/4.

There are 5 friends and him so that's 6 people.

So we can't do 11/4 divided by 6 so we must put 6 over 1.

So 11/4 divided by 6/1

Then we do "Keep Change Flip"

We keep 11/4

We change the division sign to multiplication

Then we flip 6/1 to 1/6

Then the problem is re wrote as:

11/4 times 1/6

And that equals 11/24 as your answer

So each person gets 11/24 of the pies.

If I counted correctly, the answer would be 52/150. You just need to simplify the fraction. I'll recount soon, and update if it changes.

Showing A Tape Diagram to solve 2/3 of 5 Equalling the Answer, Thank You.
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

see the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A<u><em> tape diagram</em></u> is a visual model that looks like a segment of tape and is used for representing number relationships and word problems

we have that

5(\frac{2}{3})=\frac{10}{3}

The expression 5(\frac{2}{3})  can be thought of as" five groups of two-thirds"

see the attached figure N 1

so

5(\frac{2}{3})=\frac{2}{3}+\frac{2}{3}+\frac{2}{3}+\frac{2}{3}+\frac{2}{3}=\frac{10}{3}

Another way to solve

The expression 5(\frac{2}{3})  can be thought of as" ten groups of one-thirds"

see the attached figure N 2

so

5(\frac{2}{3})=\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}=\frac{10}{3}

The sum of three consecutive whole numbers is 183 find the numbers
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

let the no.s be : x, x+1, x+2

then,

=> x + x+1 + x+2 = 183

=> 3x + 3 = 183

=> 3x     = 183 - 3

=> x  =  180/3

=> x = 60

therefore,  the whole no.s are 60, 61, and 62

Deborah has two paintings in her portfolio and paints three more each week.Kai has twelve paintings in her portfolio and paints
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
Well, we can set up these equations like this-
Deborah- 2+3w
Kai- 12+2w
w=number of weeks that pass
Now, we set them equal to each other:
2+3w=12+2w

Solve for w
2-12=2w-3w
-10 = -1w
w = 10
10 weeks. Hope this helped!
