Great Britain took advantage of the conflict between the Mughal and the Maratha empires by exploiting them.

<h3>Why there was conflict between the Mughal and Maratha empires.</h3>

This conflict was due to territorial and religious strife. Both sides wanted to dominate the other side.

Both of the empires had large armies of men that was used to fight in the war against the other side.

The Marathas defeated the Mughals.

The British people took advantage of the war between the two sides to take over the Mughal empire which had already being weakened.

Also the Marathas did not have any form of capable leadership this gave the British the advantage over them.
