This is somewhere between description and Analysis. It does not reach into either one of the other two which require either interpretation or judgement.
I don't think it is simple description. The writer is saying that the color forms a contrast, between first of all the pale blue of the background and the striking color of the mother's clothing. The washed out colors of the background leads us to the clothing. It's a contrast, well pointed out, but so far there is no meaning attached to it.
The second contrast does the same thing. The children are very young and their color is pink (sort of) which suggests youth and health. Again, no particular meaning is put on that. It is merely an observation.

(1) Shade and texture
Cross-Hatching in art gives the illusion of texture because it is a structure of lines that give a rough feel. It gives value because as you work out, the darkest shaded area is the area with the most crossing lines.
(2) Illusion of texture with paint
Impasto is where paint is thickly laid on a canvas with a artist-knife and it is built up to give texture and the paint also comes off the canvas.
Answer:
poor bby. i got you.
Explanation:
i got one years ago- it says this is a college student, so im assuming that means you have the bigger, all inclusive monofin. first, you slide on the cover\tail, and your feet will stick out- then (if youre a first time-r, you might need help) put your feet in the two holes in the monofin, then slide the tail part of the cover over the monofin. now, CAREFULLY get in the water and try no to scrape the tail across the pavement or ground. you want to avoid all types of concrete with the tail- don't scrape it too much. when youre in the water, do that thing that i think is called the butterfly stroke, but put your hands more in front, then to the sides, like youre praying almost lol. then you move your legs up and down- just model what you see in movies. the monofin is VERY heavy when its wet, so i hope youre an experienced swimmer. your legs will be together with a heavy object at the end. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have supervision the first few times you use this. even if you think youre the best swimmer in the world. just remember to think about all those mermaid cartoons you watched when you were little- model them! i hope this helps <3 have a good summer! (email me and we can be pen-pals :))
