PLZ HELP AND PLZ DON'T SAY IDK
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

Another one of the many themes in this story is hope. The Holocaust was an extremely difficult time to live in, but through it all, Anne's family never lost hope. It was hard to keep up hope in hiding, but through constant encouragement from each other, they managed to stay hopeful, even through the hardest times. "For the past two years we have lived in fear. Now we can live in hope." Act II, scene 4, p. 563, l. 1287-1288. This quote shows just how strong the Frank's belief in hope was. They were always holding on to it, even when the situation seemed impossible. The Franks set a strong example of hope for us to follow, and every day we need to hold on to hope, no matter how hard or impossible the situation may seem, because with hope, you can get through anything.

Generosity and greed in wartime

The theme of generosity and greed is an important one to consider. Selfishness and greed have just about taken over the world, and it is even more evident during a wartime or any other time when all the things that we may want or need are not as available as they usually are. It is in our human nature to think of ourselves over others, and it is very easy to do. "We're all hungry! I see the children getting thinner and thinner. You're own son Peter . . . I've heard him moan in his sleep, he's so hungry. And you come in the night and steal food that should go to them . . . to the the children!" Act II, scene III, p. 558, l. 858-862. This is an important lesson because greed is an ugly thing, and it is not a good thing to exhibit in your own life. We need to put others needs in front of our own, and not think of ourselves first.

In the Diary of Anne Frank, there are many examples of this kind of internal conflict. Anne seems to have two different personalities- a nice Anne and a mean Anne. She wants the nice Anne to be visible on the outside and the mean Anne to stay hidden on the inside, but she is scared that people will not take her seriously if she is nice. This is very troubling to her, and is definitely a source of conflict in Anne's life. " . . . I have a nicer side, Father . . . a sweeter, nicer side. But I'm scared to show it. I'm afraid that people are going to laugh at me if I'm serious. So the mean Anne comes to the outside and the good Anne stays on the inside, and I keep on trying to switch them around and have the good Anne outside and the bad Anne inside and be what I'd like to be . . . and might be . . . if only . . . only . . ." Act I, scene 4, p 536, l. 1612-1620. The author wants us to learn that that the world is a confusing place, and even our own personalities can sometimes confuse us.
