The Federalists were a political coalition that, among other things, supported the establishment of a strong central government and weak states and promoted the creation of a National Bank, alleging that it was one of the "implied" powers that the government had. The Federalists wanted to establish a National Bank similarly to that of England: with branches in all major cities of the nation, with the power to create a uniform currency and to loan people with good credit or with business likely to succeed and to the government, and to serve as an institution were government can deposit its money.
In the 18th century the average home cointained 5.7 free people (no counting servants or slaves). Few colonies included grandparents or other extended kin.
