How do you solve this 3x-4=3x-5

Mathematics
1 answer:
Basile [38]3 years ago
4 0
Combine like terms so 3x + 3x= 6x
Then put the minus signs with the 4 and 5 and add them together so -4+ -5= -9
Now you have 6x=-9 So you divide by 6 on both sides canceling out 6
but 9 divided by 6 doesn't go into a specific number therefore it has no solution which is a possible answer

Simplify the expression given below.
trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

A) 1/(3x+1)

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+2)/(x³+2x²-9x-18)÷(3x+1)/(x²-9)

(x+2)/(x+2)(x+3)(x-3)÷(3x+1)/(x+3)(x-3)

since it’s dividing by a fraction, invert and multiply

(x+2)/(x+2)(x+3)(x-3) times (x+3)(x-3)/(3x+1)

The (x+2)’s cancel out.

The (x+3)’s cancel out.

The (x-3)’s cancel out.

You are left with 1/(3x+1)

\rightarrow \sf -\dfrac{1}{5} \times [\:4-\(\dfrac{14}{16}]

\rightarrow \sf -\dfrac{1}{5} \times [\:4-\(\dfrac{7}{8}]

\rightarrow \sf -\dfrac{1}{5} \times [\:\dfrac{32}{8} -\(\dfrac{7}{8}]

\rightarrow \sf -\dfrac{1}{5} \times [\:\dfrac{25}{8}]
