lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

Population mean = 7 ± 2.306 × \frac{2.29}{\sqrt{9} }

Step-by-step explanation:

Given - A university researcher wants to estimate the mean number

            of  novels that seniors read during their time in college. An exit

            survey was conducted with a random sample of 9 seniors. The

            sample mean was 7 novels with standard deviation 2.29 novels.

To find - Assuming that all conditions for conducting inference have

              been met, which of the following is a 94.645% confidence

              interval for the population mean number of novels read by

              all seniors?

Proof -

Given that,

Mean ,x⁻ = 7

Standard deviation, s = 2.29

Size, n = 9

Now,

Degrees of freedom = df

                                = n - 1

                                = 9 - 1

                                = 8

⇒Degrees of freedom = 8

Now,

At 94.645% confidence level

α = 1 - 94.645%

   =1 - 0.94645

  =0.05355 ≈ 0.05

⇒α = 0.5

Now,

\frac{\alpha}{2} = \frac{0.05}{2}

  = 0.025

Then,

t_{\frac{\alpha}{2}, df }  = 2.306

∴ we get

Population mean = x⁻ ± t_{\frac{\alpha}{2}, df } ×\frac{s}{\sqrt{n} }

                           = 7 ± 2.306 × \frac{2.29}{\sqrt{9} }

⇒Population mean = 7 ± 2.306 × \frac{2.29}{\sqrt{9} }

In a store, 7/200 of the shirts are yellow and 69/600 are pink . What percent of the shirts are not yellow or pink.?
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

510/600 of the shirts are not yellow or pink.

Step-by-step explanation:

First we turn 7/200 with a denominator of 600.

7/200 = 21/600

Next we add 69/600 with 21/600.

69/600 + 21/600 = 90/600

Now we subtract 600 by 90.

600 - 90 = 510.

So, the answer is 510/600

Hope this helps! :)

Lloyd and Linda Pearl want to remodel the dining room in their house. The estimated cost for the job is $6,890. They pay 30 perc
mylen [45]
A. 2067.
6890 time .30 (30 percent) is 2067
B. 4823
inital ammount minus down payment
6890 - 2067 = 4823
C 134.08
Total ammount multiplied by percentage (0.0278)
4823 * .0278 = 134.079  per month
D.1612.81
find total paid and subtract initial ammount to find finance charge
(134.08*48)= 6435.81
6435.81-4824 = 1612.81

If 4 + 8=12, and 12 =17-5 then 4+8=17-5 is it equality or congruence
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:

I believe it would be equality.

Step-by-step explanation:

Equality means "The state of being equal". All of those problems equal 12 and not separate numbers, if they equaled different numbers then it would be congruence, therefor your answer is equality.

Hope this helps :)
