McLeod Bethune prior to serving as a delegate to the founding conference of the United Nations served the Black Cabinet as its member. An Unofficial organization known as the Black cabinet served as the public policy adviser to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This council argued that the African Americans did not receive aids under the New Deal program. This organization not only included the politicians but also comprised of community leaders, scholars and activists.
