There are different kinds of network. What will happen when a 5g network is rolled out in their area;

  • They will still have service through the 4G network for at least several years.
  • They will lose service as the 4G network is deactivated to make room for the 5G network.

Report has shown that 5G may roll in and so some 4G may last at least another 5-6 years.

 

Others as seen by different report shows that a large number of 4G mobile devices does not work on 5G networks. A lot of 5G networks do need a lot of frequencies that what are needed for 4G LTE.
