Police
Becoming a police officer is a long and hard process that often takes more than a year of rigorous training before the prospective candidate can actually join. The average time for this process is two years. In order to become an officer, one has to meet certain requirements such as: reside in the state, be at least 20 years old and pass a physical examination, have no felony convictions, and be in good mental and physical health.

The Police Academy in Texas is a combination of classroom and field training, conducted at the police training academy. The training lasts approximately 60 days and the trainees have to pass the strict physical test. The screeners are used by police departments across America to get a wide picture of applicants so that they can be efficient in their work. Some of these tests include:

The physical test is a measure of endurance that proves one's ability to endure high heat, stress, and fatigue for a period of time. This is done to test the trainee's stamina and endurance in order to make sure that their physical condition will not hinder them from doing their job.

The physical agility test is a measure of the recruit's flexibility, mobility, footwork, coordination, and timing. This test is done to provide the police department with information on how long it may take the recruit to reach specific objectives.

The written examination tests an applicant's written communication skills through a series of multiple choice questions on legal issues, psychology/sociology related issues, physics/chemistry related issues, reading comprehension questions that are based off of actual police reports that are needed for proper understanding in knowing what is considered good police work.
