What role did consumerism play in the early growth of capitalism?
Inga [223]

Since capitalism is based around the production and trade, consumerism as a movement that promoted consumtion logically increased the demand and the production. The more people consumed, the more profit did the companies have. By definition, consumerism promotes over consumtion of goods and services that are not neccessary or needed. Using the means of marketing and promotion, companies affect people's behavior by increasing the demand for certain products and therefore creating trends. In consumerism, products lose their value and are easily replacable. Also the appetite for variety of different products is increased.

eimsori [14]

Answer:

Both are only physical changes.

Explanation:

The green stuff is cupric chloride, a byproduct of corrosion of the valve body or possible copper leachate in the water. Either way, it's typical of water leakage where the water is of low pH.  Boiling sugar to make caramel is the same as eating sugar, just in a different form.

How would having more farmland provide an advantage during a war?
Helen [10]
Having more farmland during a war would allow for a larger capacity to produce food to feed the army. As the infantry is focused on the battle, things like food and other essential commodities increase in their intrinsic value because of what it represents, in that food gives energy to troops and the troops need energy to fight and win the war and/or battles. Napoleon and Frederick the Great are both attributed with saying "An army marches on its belly". Meaning fighting needs fuel and that fuel for soldiers is food, thus the importance of having a significant amount of farmland.
