IrinaK [193]

Answer: The girls walked 1\dfrac38 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:  Distance from home to school = \dfrac{6}{10} mile

Distance from school to store = \dfrac38 mile

Distance from store to home = \dfrac25 miles

Total distance = \dfrac6{10}+\dfrac38+\dfrac25

= \dfrac{6\times4+3\times5+2\times8}{40}   [L.C.M.(10,8,5)=40]

= \dfrac{24+15+16}{40}

= \dfrac{55}{40}

= \dfrac{11}{8}=1\dfrac38  miles

Hence, The girls walked 1\dfrac38 miles.

Pls help<br><br> Multiply. write the result in scientific notation<br><br> (1.7*10^-4)(5*10^-5)
kramer
Do the exponents first. 10 to the -4 is 1/10000 or 0.0001 and 10^ -5 is 0.00001. You end up with (1.7*0.0001)(5*0.00001) which is 0.00017*0.00005 which is 0.0000000085 or 0.085*10^-8
