(9x + 20°) + 7x = 180° { supplementary angles}

or, 9x + 20° + 7x = 180 °

or, 16x = 180° - 20°

or, x = 160°/16

:. x= 10°

Now,

9x + 20° + 2y= 180° { supplementary angles}

or, 9* 10 + 20 + 2y= 180°

or, 110° + 2y= 180°

or, 2y= 180° - 110°

or, y= 70°/2

:. y= 35°

ps: double check everything, I don't have a calculator.

If $(2x+5)(x-3)=14$, find the sum of the possible values of $x$.
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Answer:

x = 1/4 ± 1/4√233

Step-by-step explanation:

(2x + 5)(x - 3) = 14

~Use FOIL on the left side

2x² - 6x + 5x - 15 = 14

~Combine like terms

2x² - x - 15 = 14

~Subtract 14 to both sides

2x² - x - 29 = 0

~Use the quadratic formula and simplify

x = 1/4 ± 1/4√233

Best of Luck!

If two pounds of meat will serve 5 people how many pounds will be needed to serve 13 people
miv72 [106K]
The answer is 5.2 pounds of meat. To find this just divide the number of people by what the information you have about servings. 13/5=2.6(number of sets), then you multiply that by how many pounds are in each set. 2.6 sets* 2 pounds per set= 5.2 pounds.
I hope this helped!
