By reading the text, we can say that the narrator feels that she will get used to go to school, as she knows that everyone should go, as shown in the first answer option.

The evidence that best supports this is the excerpt:

<em>"I guess most children can intuit their loss of childhood’s freedom on that first day of school."</em>

We can arrive at this answer because:

  • The narrator cannot accept having to go to school.
  • She feels that she will lose all the freedom she has and that she will waste her time on it.
  • She also sees no need to study Spanish and tries very hard to be released from that commitment.

However, over time, she begins to get used to school and begins to see it as a daily responsibility, knowing that everyone should go, with no exceptions.

WARNING, IT'S LONG
Artemon [7]
It is definitely grammatically correct, but I should say that you shouldn't say fly, or similar words too often otherwise it could become boring. Aside from that, it sounds good.
1 more thing, I'm not sure you'd describe the downside to the wish a 'loop-hole', because a loop-hole doesn't really make too much sense in this idea.
Perhaps the word   trick, downside, negative, different result, unfortunate aspect etc.

Directions: Underline the subject and highlight the correct verb to make the verb agree with the subject.
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

The<u> football team</u> ( play / plays ) every Friday night.

The <u>girls in the choir</u> will ( sing / sings ) at the concert this Tuesday.

In the morning, a <u>flock of birds</u> ( fly / flies ) to the pond.

Before school starts, <u>he</u> ( put / puts ) his belongings in his backpack.

<u>Each player on the team</u> needs to ( stretch / stretches ) before the game starts.

Explanation:

This can be explained with the subject-verb agreement. If the subject is singular, then the verb must also be singular. If the subject is plural then a plural verb must also be used. The subject and verb must match or agree. Using the example, <u>Mary</u> ( like / likes ) chocolate, Mary would be the subject as the verb is connected to her. Chocolate can't be the subject as the chocolate is not liking, but Mary likes the chocolate.
