The lord knew that a flood was soon to come so he warned Noah and told him to build an ark. After he was to build the ark he was then told to get 2 of every animal on the ark and preach the word of the lord. Although when he taught what the lord told him about the flood to come only little amounts of people followed his command and when the flood finally came about those who did not listen to what Noah said died and suffered.
