i mean i would but if your broke and they don't ask for it back, don't give it back. if it really bothered them, they would ask you for the money back so with that being said, you don't have to but to be nice i would pay them back.
Your best choice is going to be "intrinsically". When someone is "intrinsically motivated" it is because they enjoy what they are doing to achieve their goal.
