The tomato example is not a good hypothesis because the responses are subjective - not measurable. A good hypothesis has to have something that is measured- so you could consider a hypothesis on tomatoes around the amount of lycopene (the red color) And how much sugar/g of tomato there is (so the redder the sweeter kind of idea but is measurable)!
