to get the right side to this denominator, we have to multiply numerator and denominator (top and bottom) by 4.

and then we get

3/(4(x+2)) = (4x)/(4(x+2))

and now as both sides are "standing" on the same denominator, we can simply compare only the top parts.

3 = 4x

and therefore we can solve

x = 3/4

and D is then the right answer choice.
