Until they declared independence, many settlers still hoped for a peaceful solution that was not reached, as there was armed war in response to the event. War was inevitable because of the conflict of interests where one of the parties would lose.

American independence

It took place on July 4, 1776, ending the colonial bond with England. From there, a Republican and Federalist model of a nation inspired by the Enlightenment emerged.

Therefore, the War of Independence emerged from the rebellion of the thirteen colonies dissatisfied with the exploitation of the metropolis, which was fought with punitive measures and armed confrontation of war.

Some colonists still hoped for a peaceful solution to this conflict, due to the attachment they had with the British colonists, believing that they would bring them security.

3) The Populist Party, according to some historians, had a close link with the Progressives. This is debatable though.
