Yes. Shared power is very important in the united states government. Shared power prevents dictatorship and all decisions are made fair. The vice president is depended on in case anything happens to the president. america will not be left without a leader. Vice presidents can take control and fill in the presidents position in case of death. The vice president also takes office while the president is unconscious (undergoing surgery with anesthesia).
