The difference between political parties and interest groups is that parties intervene in politics by participating from within. On the contrary, interest groups participate in it from the outside.

What is an interest group?

An interest group is a term to refer to a group of people organized around a common interest with the aim of acting jointly in defense of it.

A distinctive aspect of interest groups is that their political activity focuses on intervention in political issues from outside it, that is, indirectly.

What is a political party?

A political party is a term to refer to a public interest association that establishes principles related to the rights and duties of citizens and actively participates in politics to achieve them.

The political parties seek to channel and transmit the interests of the population so that they are considered in government decision-making and enable the participation of the population in the political process through the election of popular representatives who exercise political power.

According to the above, political parties and interest groups differ because political parties do influence political decisions directly because they have members holding public office. On the other hand, interest groups do not influence public opinion and politics directly.

saul85 [17]

Answer: d. A&C

Explanation:

James Olds and Peter Milner´s discovery of reinforcement centers of the brain happened by accident in 1954.

They implanted an electrode inside a rat's brain, with the intention of stimulating the reticular system, when the rat, placed inside a box, approached a certain place. They expected the rat to eventually avoid that place.

However, the electrode curved off its expected course and landed near the hypothalamus, and the rat´s behavior indicated the brain stimulation was pleasurable.
