Cyrus was a great king of Persia.
He was a great patron of the Jewish tribe.
He was a brave and one of the most compassionate king.
He allowed his subjects to live and worship all to their wishes.
He cared for them as if they were his children.
He defeated many rulers which also included Nabuchdrezzar and Noboniduis which led to the followers of Yahweh to return to Jerusalem.
He freed the Jews from exile in Babylon and helped them return to Jerusalem.
Expectation of followers of Yahweh
He asked the Jews to rebuild their temples and homelands but a majority of Jewish had their roots deeply attached in the lands of their enforced adoption.
They had developed strong ties by marriage plans, business ideas and friendships and were unwillingly to leave for Jerusalem as they had no longer attraction to it.
