In the passage, the word antiquated has been similar to junk and old-fashioned.

The passage has been about the record player found by Jared. While working in the pile, Jared had found an old record player that has been destroyed.

To repair the player, he tries to find the unavailable and missing parts. The parts missing made it unable to work the record player. He found it a cool fashion statement for playing record players, however, he has been unable to do that.

The word antiquated has been used for the old, outdated items. In the passage, the word that has been synonym to antiquated has been junk and old-fashioned.

Circle the examples of "convection"
butalik [34]

Answer:

"steam rising from a coffee mug"

"smoke rising from campfire"

"frying an egg"

Explanation:

By definition, convection is "the circular motion that happens when warmer air or liquid — which has faster moving molecules, making it less dense — rises, while the cooler air or liquid drops down." The only examples of this are the ones I listed above, in the answer section.

KIM [24]
I would assume that the author does this to show how indifferent the person in the book is, she/he doesn’t know what they are in life, this makes it relatable to readers who have had this feeling before and it shows how the character is feeling in that moment
