"Attitude reflects leadership." What does that mean?
oksano4ka [1.4K]
“Attitude reflects leadership, captain” is a now-famous quote from the movie Remember the Titans. While this movie is about American high school football, the sentiment remains: a good, or bad, attitude comes from the top down. ... It's the trickle-down economics effect on productivity, moods and general – well – attitude.

Write two to three sentences explaining the pun on the name Ernest in the passage and how the pun connects to a serious issue or
Hatshy [7]
Ernest is a name, but it is based on the word earnest. The word earnest means sincere, but the character Ernest, in "The Importance of Being Earnest" is far from that. He tries on different personalities or jobs, but none are genuine, because he isn't being himself. In the end, he learns why it is so important to be "earnest", true to himself. Being "earnest" and being "Ernest" have the same meaning at the end of the story, since the main character, Ernest, realizes the importance of being true to himself.

Giver
jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

Prompt 1: The society in the Giver, is structured in such a way that promotes security over freedom. The people have no choices or freedom of any kind, yet they don't need to worry about getting enough resources, or basic survival needs because everything is planned out by the government.

Prompt 2: I would say that the attitude toward euthanasia is mostly accepted because that is what is written into the society, and part of your planned out life. However, I think you would need to go back to the text and pay attention to the tone and word choices around that subject.
