When a neurotransmitter opens a chemically gated ion channel that allows sodium to enter the postsynaptic cell, the result is an EPSP. It is an excitatory potential.

An excitatory postsynaptic potential (EPSP) is a type of potential that causes an increase in the potential due to the flow of positively (+) charged ions such as sodium ions.

The release of chemical messengers called neurotransmitters by presynaptic cells leads to the excitatory postsynaptic potential.

These neurotransmitters bind to specific cell receptors localized in postsynaptic cells.

Trava [24]

Answer:

Nucleic acids combine to synthesize proteins, from DNA which becomes RNA and when entering the ribosome generates such synthesis.

Explanation:

Protein synthesis is a complex process that begins in the cell nucleus and begins when the protein gene is encoded and expressed by the transcription process. The transcript is the one that transmits the information from the DNA to the RNA (the two nucleic acids).

There is also an tRNA, which carries the amino acids for each messenger RNA where they bind to the proper position, within the protein synthesis

Putting the gene for bioluminescence in fish an an example of
Ronch [10]

Scientists have isolated the gene that produces the bioluminescence protein and inserted the gene into the embryos of tetra fish. This results in tetra fish that produce a green glow.

How, support your answer?

Tetra fish is a type or an example Glofish that has undergone genetic modifications whereby the gene in jelly fish that produces the green fluorescent protein (GFP) was extracted and inserted into the embryos of the tetra fish thereby causing them to glow or fluoresce in the presence of Ultraviolet light or natural light.

The genetically modified tetra fish passes this fluorescent gene from one generation to another.

Thus, The aim of this genetic modification in tetra fish was to be able to detect water pollution in the sea using the glow of the tetra fish.
