Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

In the 1st problem, the negative wasn't distributed to the 4, so the expression should read 2x-3y-4 instead

In the 2nd problem, the 3 wasn't distributed to the -2, so the expression should read 5x+3x-6 instead

In the 3rd problem, it should read 30x² since x*x=x².

In the 4th problem, x is multiplied by both y and z, so the expression should read xyz instead.

In the 5th problem, a should only be multiplied by x in the fraction since a is equivalent to a/1, making the denominator stay the same. So, the expression should read ax/y instead.

In the 6th problem, the exponent distributes to BOTH 4 and x, so the expression should read 16x² instead.

In the 7th problem, the exponent distributes to both the numerator and denominator, so the expression should read x³/y³ instead.

In the 8th problem, you cannot square root each individual term. Therefore, the expression should not be rewritten.

In the 9th problem, you cannot distribute the radical for each term. Therefore, the expression should not be rewritten.

In the 10th problem, the rewritten expression is missing 2ab. So, (a+b)²=a²+2ab+b²

In the 11th problem, there are no parentheses, so -(3²) was done instead of (-3)².

In the 12th problem, when the negative is distributed to the 5, we have -5+5=0 which is not -10. The resulting expression should be written as x²-x+10

vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

95% confidence for µ, the average number of times a horse races

(12.493 , 18.107)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Explanation</u>:-

The veterinarian finds that the average number of races a horse enters is 15.3

The mean of the sample x⁻ = 15.3

Given standard deviation of the sample 'S' = 6.8

Given sample size 'n' = 25

Degrees of freedom = n-1 =25-1 =24

The tabulated value 't' = 2.064 at two tailed test 0.95 level of significance

<u> 95% confidence for µ, the average number of times a horse races</u>

<u></u>(x^{-} - t_{\alpha } \frac{S}{\sqrt{n} } , x^{-} +  t_{\alpha }\frac{S}{\sqrt{n} } )<u></u>

<u></u>(15.3- 2.064 \frac{6.8}{\sqrt{25} } , 15.3 +  2.064\frac{6.8}{\sqrt{25} } )<u></u>

(15.3 - 2.80704 ,15.3 +2.80704)

(12.493 , 18.107)

<u>Conclusion</u>:-

95% confidence for µ, the average number of times a horse races

(12.493 , 18.107)

Two capacitors, a 20 mF and a 30 mF, are connected in parallel to a 400 Hz source. The total capacitive reactance is _____.
muminat

<u>Answer</u>-

<em>The total capacitive reactance of the circuit is </em><em>7.96 Ω.</em>

<u>Solution-</u>

Two capacitors, a 20 mF and a 30 mF, are connected in parallel to a 400 Hz source.

The effective/equivalent capacitance of the circuit is,

C=20+30=50\ mF

As, when capacitors are connected together in parallel, the equivalent capacitance in the circuit is equal to the sum of capacitance of all the individual capacitor.

We know that,

X_c=\dfrac{1}{2\pi fC}

Where,

X_c = Capacitive Reactance (in Ω)

f = frequency (in Hz)

C = Capacitance (in F)

Here given,

X_c = ??

f = 400 Hz

C = 50 mF = 50\times 10^{-6} F

Putting the values in the formula,

X_c=\dfrac{1}{2\pi \times 400\times 50\times 10^{-6}}

X_c=\dfrac{10^{6}}{40000\pi}

X_c=7.96\ \Omega

Therefore, the total capacitive reactance of the circuit is 7.96 Ω.

What’s the answer to 9 and 10???
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

9. C. division

10. D. addition

Step-by-step explanation:

When solving for X the goal is to get it all by itself on one side of the equation and to do that you have to undo the operations already in effect on it.  In number 9 the x is multiplied by 3 so to undo that you would need to divide by 3 and that would cancel out leaving the x by itself.  Then you would need to divide by 3 on the other side of the equation also to keep it balenced.  In number 10 the X is connected to the 10 through subtraction so to cancel that out you would subtract 10 from both sides to get the X alone.

I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to ask if there is anything still unclear!
