Wild Peaches by Elinor Wylie

The line “We’ll swim in milk and honey till we drown” depicts an abundance of supply of food or about prosperity in general. On the other hand, the line “The spring begins before the winter’s over” suggests an ideal weather where winter is short-lived and fair weather is always enjoyed. Finally, the line “We shall live well — we shall live very well” promises a good and comfortable life. Thus, readers expect that life at the Eastern Shore is everybody’s dream life: complete, perfect and ideal.

6. In section 1, what does Mather mean by bewitching when he refers to the charges brought against Martha Carrier?
Verdich [7]

Answer:

He means that Carrier has cast a spell on people.

Explanation:

The word "bewitching" was used in the sense of "wearing a charm", so the author shows that Martha Carrier was accused of witchcraft because, according to her accusers, she had the ability to attract them, dominate them and exercise them a power that was evil, like a charm. These accusations were so powerful that they even had the ability to enchant Martha's inquisitors, making them look for more witnesses and until it was impossible to absorb her from the crime for which she was being tried.

What is the poem "The Poetic Interpretation of the Twist" by Cornelius Eady trying to say?
Lisa [10]

The poem is trying to say that if you do not remember anything that happened in the past does not mean that you do not have knowledge about it.

Explanation:

The poem "The poetic interpretation of the twist" is written by Cornelius Eady. It is a poem written in a very different way and leaves a positive impact on the readers of this poem.

The major theme and the message of this poem is that a lot of events happen in the past of the life of the humans and there are certain events about which the human might forget also and they go out of the mind or the memory of the human being also. But if he forgets something does not mean that he does not have any knowledge about that particular thing. It is just out of memory.
