Did the United States live up to the ideals of justice and democracy during WWII ? Explain why.
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

No they did not

Explanation:

Democracy is when the whole country, peacefully, comes to agreements about issues through elected officals. During the civil war, the states were split up fighting against each other over the issue of slavery. This does not at all represent democracy. Slaves were still being kept during the time of WWII which is a huge injustice and inequality.

How did southern states react to the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860
boyakko [2]
In general, southerners didn't like Lincoln long before the 1860 election. As a member of the Free Soil Party(Before it later became a republican party) Lincoln argued against expanding slavery into any of the new territories.
Thats why in 1860, Lincoln's name did not appear on the ballot in ten southern states.

What is a shadoof?<br> And how does it work?
Tomtit [17]
A shaduf is a large pole balanced on a crossbeam, a rope and bucket on one end and a heavy counter weight at the other. By pulling the rope it lowered the bucket into the canal. The farmer then raised the bucket of water by pulling down on the weight. He then swung the pole around and emptied the bucket onto the field.
