What caused the economic problems of the 1970s? were they avoidable?

The biggest factor was due to the amount of money that was poured into the vietnam war and people stopped investing into stocks due to it. avoidable? depends on who you ask but i’d say yes.

I think he knew immediately that the war would be over very quickly. Intelligence at the time showed he had very little resources to defend himself...his own brother in law, who was in his inner circle told the CIA over and over he had nothing.
