Based on the following information answer question Furniture manufacture has 3 units of standard direct material allowed for one

unit of output. One unit of direct material is expected to be purchased on average at $10. During the period the manufacture has produced 7000 units of output 4 units of direct materials have been used. The direct materials have been purchased at $9 per unit. The total quantities of materials purchased were 30,000 units. 1.What is a standard cost for material? 2.What will be the total inputs allowed as per the budget for actual outputs achieved? 3.What is total actual direct material used to produce actual output? 4.What is the material price variance? 5.What is the material efficiency variance? 6.What will be flexible budget variance? 7.Which one of the following items would never appear on a cash budget?

1. The standard cost for material per output unit is $30 ($10 x 3).

2. The total inputs allowed for actual outputs achieved is 21,000 units (7,000 x 3).

3. The total actual direct material used for actual output is 28,000 units (7,000 x 4).

4. The material price variance is $28,000 Favorable {($10 - $9) x 28,000}.

5. The material efficiency variance is $70,000 Unfavorable (21,000 - 28,000) x $10.

6. The flexible budget variance is $28,000 Favorable ($280,000 - $252,000).

7. The item that would never appear on a cash budget is the Depreciation Expense.

Data and Calculations:

Standard units of input materials = 3 units

Average cost of a unit of materials = $10

Total cost of 3 units = $30 ($10 x 3 per unit output

Actual production = 7,000 units

Flexible units of materials = 21,000 units (7,000 x 3)

Actual units of materials used = 28,000 units (7,000 x 4)

Actual cost of materials purchased = $9 per unit

Thus, depreciation expense does not involve a cash flow.

Some people argue that “the only beneficiary of the entrepreneurial wealth is the entrepreneur him/herself” Do you agree? Why or
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

I do not agree that “the only beneficiary of the entrepreneurial wealth is the entrepreneur him/herself.”

The entrepreneur may be the chief beneficiary when she is alive to reap the rewards of their entrepreneurial efforts. But, she is certainly not the only beneficiary of the entrepreneurial wealth that she creates. Nobody works in isolation. When the entrepreneur commences her business, society as a whole benefits because any individual wealth created increases the wealth of the nation and the world. She only gets the profit share of the created wealth. Customers who patronize her services and goods also derive satisfaction of needs (utility or value). The entrepreneur's wealth is also shared to the government in form of taxes. Suppliers of primary goods and services also share in the wealth of the entrepreneur. And employees of the entrepreneur also take a large share of the created wealth.

Explanation:

But, who is an entrepreneur? She is somebody who assumes some entrepreneurial (first-time) risks in order to set up a business for the manufacture or provision of goods and services for the purpose of profit. Her business may not be profitable in the short-run. She can even lose tons of money initially until the profit stage sets in. As she preserves, the profits will start rolling in, provided she had done her homework well.

FinnZ [79.3K]

The journal entry for the issuance of an interest-bearing note for the purpose of borrowing funds for the business is Debit cash.

What is Debit Cash?

 • When a person uses debit cash, money is automatically taken out of their checking account.
 • These cards, which are sometimes known as "check cards" or "bank cards," can be used to make purchases of products or services, withdraw cash from an automated teller machine, or make additional purchases at merchants who will accept them.
 • You might not be able to make a very large purchase using debit cash because they typically have daily spending limits.
 • A personal identification number is typically not required to use a debit card (PIN).

Hence, Debit cash is the journal entry for issuing an interest-bearing note for the purpose of borrowing money for the company.
