A.) This statement shows that the slaves in the South were passing through a lot of hardship in the hands of the white people.

The advert shows that they were being sold and bought like common commodities in the South of US.

B. A free slave in the North when he sees this may be grateful that he is in a part of the country were he was free.

He may also think of the rest of the blacks that are still in this condition and when they would get their own freedom.

The slaves were bought in the South to work in the plantations of the Southern farm owners. They were used to provide labors on the farms and in their homes.
