History

The sinking of the Mercedes also deprived the Spanish Crown of about 600,000 gold and silver coins weighing 17 metric tonnes in total. It is estimated that the massive haul of bullion is valued at around $500 million today, so one can only imagine how much tax revenue this represented over 200 years ago.

According to Betty's account, what were the working conditions of the coal pits? Was the work easy or difficult? What does Betty
Paladinen [302]

Answer and explanation;

-The conditions in the pit were harsh, and the work was very difficult. Betty worked 12 hour days eating very little food during the day. She had only break during the day. She often went home so tired she would fall asleep before washing up.

-The belt she wore was uncomfortable and she was often going uphill, or working in deep water. Also Betty says that it was common for male workers to beat the drawers, who were mostly women and children. Betty thought the work was very hard for a woman.

Answer:

The Vietnam war matters at the begin because, China had become communist in 1949 and communists were in control of North Vietnam. The USA was afraid that communism would spread to South Vietnam and then the rest of Asia. It decided to send money, supplies and military advisers to help the South Vietnamese Government.

The Vietnam war maters today because, the policy of containment led the United States into a wide array of conflicts ranging from Korea to Vietnam, and whose legacy is still with us in the economic embargo of Cuba and a destabilized Afghanistan.
