After reading the short story "Rules of the Game," by Amy Tan, we can say that this is how Waverly is affected by the conflict with her mother in paragraphs 71-78:

B. She begins to think of her mother as her enemy rather than her teammate.

<h3>What happens in "Rules of the Game"?</h3>
  • Waverly is just a child, but she becomes a genius of chess. Soon, her Chinese mother begins to interfere with this activity, which Waverly loves so much.
  • Waverly just wants to play chess for herself, but her mother seems to want to expose her, parade her. Of course, it is just a part of her culture to want to have a prodigy for a child, but Waverly does not appreciate that.
  • After their major conflict, Waverly begins to see her mother as an enemy rather than a teammate. The story ends with Waverly imagining her relationship with her mother as a chess game:

"<em>Her black men advanced across the plane, slowly marching to each successive level as a single unit. My white pieces screamed as they scurried and fell off the board one by one. [...]  I closed my eyes and pondered my next move.</em>"

With the information above in mind, we can choose letter B as the best option.

Class sizes make a big difference essay
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

Class size can make a big difference on how a student learns and reacts to an environment. In particular, how well a student can listens. If a lot of people are in class it might be hard for them to comprehend what a teacher/professor is saying. As a result of them not being able to comprehend what the teacher is saying they won´t be able to understand the assignments which results in missing or failed assignments.

Continuing what I was saying a big class size can hurt a student and cause them to fail the class as a whole. They won´t be able to ask the the teacher/professor independent questions because they´re are too many students ,so they won´t learn what they need to know.

Try It Read what you wrote in Part 1. See it
Elodia [21]
A- Clause
B- Clause
C- Clause
D- Clause
To come up with this conclusion I used the information above. Also, some of the underlined words had a comma next to it meaning it may be a subordinate clause.

Why does the narrator take over javier's duties so quickly in deportation at breakfast?
arsen [322]

Answer:

He quickly took over Javier's role because his egg which was on the grill was beginning to burn.

Explanation:

Javier who was apparently an illegal immigrant owned a restaurant where he sold meals at very cheap prices. The narrator came into the restaurant and ordered a meal which Javier was  preparing when the authorities came in and took Javier away.

When the narrator found no other staff around, he had to attend to his egg which was on the grill before it got burnt. He also fit in more because he began taking customers' orders with great ease so that nobody noticed the absence of Javier.

I'd go with A because the other options don't make sense at all.
