The two main factor that aided America's victory in the Revolution was the distance between Britain and American and support from the French. Since the war was fought in America, the Americans were on home soil and knew it better. It also meant that the British would have to travel across the Atlantic and retreat back for supplies and more men, which was quite inconvenient. However, the main reason for the victory was France's naval assistance and aid towards the end of the war. The British had one of the best navies at the time, it wasn't until the French helped out and assisted in the war that America was able to gain victory.
Humanism is a big role in this. Humanism is the idea of thinking more about the individual (The things people felt and created were just as important as faith and religion)
Since philosophers were now thinking with humanism influencing them, they thought more about the individual person themselves and their role in society. Unlike earlier thinkers who thought about people as a whole and the Church's role in society. People began to come up with the ideas that the Church is not the answer to everything.

The three major schools of thought emerged from the Warring states period were-
1. Legalism- It was associated with Han Feizi. This thought spelled out and strictly enforced rules or laws through a system of rewards and punishments.
2- Confucianism- It was associated with Confucius. This was different from Legalism. It was not about the laws and punishments, but the moral example of superiors so as to restore social harmony after the Zhou and Qin dynasties.
3- Daoism- It was associated with Laozi. Daoists urged withdrawal into the world of nature and encouraged behavior that was spontaneous, individualistic, and natural.
