----------------- =   --------------

1 1/8 tsp salt     x tsp salt

using cross products

3/4 * x = 1 1/8 * 1

change the mixed number (1 1/8 to an improper fraction  = 9/8)

3/4 x =9/8

multiply each side by 4/3

3/4 x * 4/3 = 9/8 * 4/3
