Why did mario brajuha refuse to turn over his research notes to the authorities even when subpoenaed?
Eddi Din [679]
The answer is he wanted to protect his respondents. He was a graduate student at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He was doing a participant observation of restaurant workers. He lost his job as a waiter when the restaurant where he was working burned down—a fire of “suspicious origin,” according to the police. When detectives learned that Brajuha had taken field notes, they requested to see them. Because he had sworn to keep the information confidential, Brajuha declined to hand them over. The district attorney then subpoenaed the notes. Brajuha still refused. The district attorney then blackmailed Brajuha to put in jail. By this time, Brajuha’s notes had become rather renowned, and unsavory characters—those who had set the fire—also desired to know what was in them. They, too, commanded to see them, associated their demands with threats of a different nature. Brajuha found himself between a rock and a hard place. For two years, Brajuha refused to hand over his notes, even though he grew nervous and had to appear at several court hearings. Finally, the district attorney dropped the subpoena because the two men died during investigation. The threats to Brajuha, his wife, and their children ended.

Answer:

The answer is agriculture.

Explanation:

Agriculture is sometimes described as the greatest discovery in humanity's History, precisely because it was a landmark in the progress of human societies. The reason is it allowed people to settle in a definite location (i.e. they became sedentarian), which meant a person was assigned a specific role in the community.

Explain how studies of the solar surface provide information about the Sun’s interior. Astronomers can make direct observations
sdas [7]

Answer:

Studies of astronomers with respect to solar oscillations (heliosismology) and neutrinos can provide observational data about the interior of the Sun.

Explanation:

The technique of heliosismology has shown that the composition of the interior is very similar to that of the surface (with exception from the nucleus, where part of the original hydrogen has become helium), and that the convection zone extends around 30% of the surface. Heliosismology detects active regions on the other side of the Sun and provides better predictions of solar storms that can affect the Earth. The Neutrinos of the Sun tells us what is happening in the solar interior. A recent experiment has shown that solar models accurately predict the number of electronic neutrinos produced by nuclear reactions in the Sun's core.
