The passage from the 11th century by Arab Geographer - Al Bakri tells the story of Ancient Ghana and how it is that there were religious tensions between Islam and the indigenous religions of the Soninke.

What was Ancient Ghana like?

Because it was in the ancient period, transportation was still medieval. It took a month and ten days (approximately) to cross the Sahara Desert from a coastal city to Ancient Ghana.

The mode of transportation then was Camels. The Ancient Ghanian empire became the home of two major religions:

 • African Traditional Religion of the Soninke people, and
 • Islam.

lorasvet [3.4K]
Although textile mills and tobacco factories emerged in the South during this time, the plans for a New South largely failed. By 1900, per-capita income in the South was forty percent less than the national average, and rural poverty persisted across much of the South well into the twentieth century.

Read this excerpt from part 5 of zeitoun. it was a test, zeitoun thinks. who among us could deny that we were tested? but now lo
atroni [7]

Answer:

all hurricane katrina victims are having experiences similar to his

Explanation:

Zeitoun is saying that he and the victims of Hurricane Katrina suffered several storms. He said this, because after the hurricane, zeitoun who is a Syrian American was aware that there were island survivors near his home, so he rescued an old aluminum boat in the garage and walked around the neighborhood, helping those that he found. The voluntary Round becomes a routine, and for a week zeitoun has transformed the small vessel into an extension of official support to the victims of the disaster, until the intervention of military and paramilitary troops, including Blackwater mercenary agents and thousands of uniformed men armed up to his teeth, abruptly interrupted Zeitoun's activities. He was arrested in a place that very much resembles the gloomy Guantanamo, without any justification or even the right to make a phone call to his wife.
