We needed war to end slavery because there was difference in opinion between the north and south and the war would decide which side was right and stronger and that determined if the end of slavery was near.

But this wasn't the only distinguishing point between these documents. The two distinguished in several ways such as the judiciary, power of levying taxes, the number of votes in Congress, etc.
